14 Logos Created Using ChatGPT
ChatGPT has been making waves as an AI assistant that can generate surprisingly human-like text. With OpenAI’s integration of the image generator DALL-E 3, ChatGPT gained the ability to also create images based on text prompts. This opens up new creative possibilities for the AI.
While it can now generate aesthetic images like portraits and landscapes, what about more complex visual design tasks? In particular, can ChatGPT effectively create logos – visual representations that uniquely identify a brand? Designing an impactful logo requires creativity to develop concepts that connect to the brand identity and industry. It also requires graphic design skills to visually render the ideas in a clean, balanced way.
To test ChatGPT’s skills at logo creation, I provided it with 14 different prompts for logos across a variety of businesses and styles. In this post, we’ll look at the logos ChatGPT generated and evaluate how well an AI can currently perform this high-level creative task compared to a human graphic designer.
Before proceeding note that you can generate images only if you are a ChatGPT Pro subscriber. If you don’t have a subscription, I suggest you to use Bing Image Creator to generate logos for free.
Tech Logo
Prompt: Design a sleek, minimalist logo for a tech startup named ‘ByteBound’, emphasizing simplicity and modernity.
This tests ChatGPT’s ability to create a logo for a fictional tech company that should visually communicate qualities like innovation and seamless user experience.

ChatGPT created a compact logo combining the company name and a graphic of lines interlocking like pieces of technology. The grayscale color scheme and the font promote the minimalist, modern aesthetic requested.
Eco-Friendly Logo
Prompt: Craft an eco-friendly logo for ‘GreenStride’, a sustainable fashion brand, using earth tones and natural imagery.
This tests ChatGPT’s ability to create a logo for a company in the eco-fashion space. Key elements it should incorporate are earthy colors and nature-inspired visuals.

For this logo, ChatGPT incorporated leaves in the shape of Earth with the company name. The earthy color palette and leaf imagery connect well with the natural, eco-friendly brand identity. The concept is fairly predictable but captures the core elements requested in the prompt. The font and layout are a bit basic but overall this logo aligns with the sustainable fashion brief.
Coffee Shop Logo
Prompt: Craft a logo for a coffee shop, showcasing a cup of coffee in a warm and inviting style.
This tests ChatGPT’s skills at designing an appetizing logo for a coffee shop. It should incorporate coffee imagery and have a welcoming, comforting aesthetic.

Prompt: Create a square iOS app logo for a fitness app.
This prompt challenges ChatGPT to design a small icon that could represent a health and fitness app on the App Store. It should fit the square iOS icon format and communicate fitness.

ChatGPT created a reasonably effective iOS icon here. The running man illustration immediately signals fitness and exercise. The green and orange color palette pops. The style is generic, but overall this logo works well as a fitness app icon.
Pet Store Logo
Prompt: Design a charming logo for a pet store or vet using muted pastels and animal icons.
This gives ChatGPT the creative brief to make a cute, friendly logo for a pet business. It should include subtle pastel colors and subtle animal imagery.

Takeaways
Through this extensive logo prompt challenge, we can see that ChatGPT has decent fundamental skills for generating logos, but still has limitations in creating truly original, strategic brand representations. The AI assistant was able to interpret creative briefs and produce appropriate concepts, styles, and aesthetic elements for various industries and identities.
However, the logos often lacked innovation and visual impact compared to human-designed logos. Truly custom imagery and typography seem beyond ChatGPT’s current creative capabilities. While it can produce professional, on-brand logos, a human graphic designer’s ingenuity and strategic perspective remains unmatched.
That said, it’s impressive to see ChatGPT’s expanding design skills, and future advances in AI creativity could make it an even more versatile visual asset. For now, it serves best as a design aid for ideation rather than replacing a skilled logo designer completely.
