Gemini Prompts for Stunning Men Photos with Casual Outfit

Casual menswear photos look simple, but the good ones are never accidental. The fit of the clothes, the wall behind the subject, the direction of the light, all of it does quiet work in the background.

With Google Gemini’s image model, Nano Banana, you can generate these looks yourself without a camera or a studio. The results come out clean and realistic when the prompt is specific enough.

To start, open gemini.google.com or the Gemini app, begin a new chat, and pick any model from the model list. Paste your prompt and let it run. If you want the photo to match a certain person or a certain style of clothing, upload a reference image along with the prompt.

Here are the prompts. Copy them as they are, or swap out the colors and locations to suit what you’re going for.

Overshirt and Black Trousers Against a Plain Wall

This one is the classic full-body streetwear shot. The plain wall does most of the heavy lifting because it puts all the attention on the outfit.

Create a full-body photo of a young man standing straight against a plain textured concrete wall with his hands tucked into his trouser pockets. He is wearing an unbuttoned light grey utility overshirt with chest pockets over a plain white oversized t-shirt, black tapered trousers with a slight cuff at the ankle, and clean white low-top sneakers. His posture is relaxed with shoulders squared and weight resting evenly on both feet. The camera is at chest height shooting straight on, capturing him head to toe. Natural daylight comes from the side, casting a soft grey shadow of his figure onto the wall behind him. The color palette is muted greys, off-white, and black with a flat minimal aesthetic. Shot with a 35mm lens, sharp focus throughout. Use aspect ratio 9:16.

Blue Knit Sweater on a European Street

Layering a sweater over a collared shirt is one of the easiest ways to make a casual outfit look put together. The collar peeking out is the whole trick.

Create a photo of a man in his late twenties leaning back against a black metal railing on a European street, one hand in his trouser pocket and the other resting on the railing, his body angled to the side while he looks away from the camera with a slight smile. He is wearing a light blue oversized wool knit sweater layered over a white collared shirt with the collar and hem visible, navy tailored trousers, and worn off-white sneakers. Dark sunglasses sit on his face and his hair is slightly tousled. The background shows a large wooden double door and a pale stone building facade, softly out of focus. The camera is at waist height tilted slightly upward to capture his full body. Overcast daylight gives soft even lighting with no harsh shadows. Cool muted tones with blue and stone grey dominating. Shot with a 50mm lens. Use aspect ratio 9:16.

Terry Polo and Tailored Shorts in a Garden

Warm weather casual is mostly about texture. A terry or towelling polo photographs beautifully because it catches light differently from a normal knit.

Create a photo of a man standing casually on a gravel path in a coastal garden with both hands in his pockets, his weight shifted onto one leg and his head turned slightly down with a natural smile. He is wearing a sage green terry cloth polo shirt with an open collar, beige tailored chino shorts ending just above the knee, dark sunglasses, and a silver dive watch on his wrist. The background features a grey shingled house with white window frames, flowering hydrangea bushes, a weathered wooden fence, and green trees under a clear blue sky. The camera is at chest height in a three-quarter body crop. Bright natural midday sunlight with soft shadows across his face. Warm summer palette of sage, sand, and green. Shot with an 85mm lens, shallow depth of field. Use aspect ratio 4:5.

Beige Shacket with Black Jeans in a Studio

A studio backdrop with no background detail makes the clothes read like a catalog shot. Good option if you want something clean for a product or lookbook feel.

Create a full-body studio photo of a young man standing with one hand tucked into his jeans pocket and the other hanging loose at his side, feet slightly apart in a relaxed stance. He is wearing an open beige cotton shacket with rolled sleeves over a light grey graphic print t-shirt, straight-cut black jeans, and olive green retro running sneakers. A stack of thin beaded bracelets sits on one wrist. The background is a seamless warm taupe studio backdrop with no props. The camera is at chest height capturing him head to toe with even framing. Soft diffused studio lighting from the front creates a gentle shadow under his feet. Neutral palette of beige, taupe, grey, and black. Shot with a 50mm lens, crisp catalog-style detail. Use aspect ratio 9:16.

Matching Grey Co-ord Set Outdoors

Matching sets are having a long moment and they photograph well because the single color reads as one clean block in the frame.

Create a photo of a man walking forward on a smooth concrete patio, captured mid-stride with one arm swinging naturally and the other slightly bent. He is wearing a matching slate blue heavyweight cotton set consisting of an oversized boxy t-shirt with a small chest logo and drawstring shorts ending above the knee, paired with tall white crew socks and chunky white sneakers. Black wraparound sunglasses cover his eyes. The background shows dark modern architectural columns, an outdoor dining table with black chairs, and tall green trees, all softly blurred. The camera is at hip height shooting slightly upward. Strong natural sunlight creates crisp shadows on the ground. Cool blue-grey palette with bright white accents. Shot with a 35mm lens. Use aspect ratio 9:16.

Black Knit Camp Shirt with Tan Trousers

An open-weave knit camp collar shirt is the smartest casual shirt you can wear. Pair it with warm neutral trousers and the contrast does the work.

Create a photo of a man leaning against a smooth limestone block wall with both hands in his pockets, one shoulder resting on the wall and one leg crossed over the other at the ankle, laughing naturally while looking off-camera. He is wearing a black open-knit short sleeve camp collar shirt buttoned most of the way up, tan brown straight-leg trousers, and a simple leather belt. His hair is short and curly. The background is a plain beige stone wall with visible horizontal seams and a subtle stone ledge running behind him. The camera is at chest height in a three-quarter body crop. Warm afternoon sunlight comes in from the side, creating soft directional shadows on the wall. Palette of black, tan, and warm sandstone. Shot with a 50mm lens. Use aspect ratio 4:5.

Camp Shirt and Cargo Shorts Seated Studio Shot

Seated poses change the whole energy of a photo. They feel calmer and they show off shorts and shoes much better than standing shots do.

Create a studio photo of a man sitting on a simple wooden box with his elbows resting on his knees and his hands loosely clasped in front of him, leaning slightly forward toward the camera. He is wearing an unbuttoned cream short sleeve camp collar shirt with subtle embroidery over a plain white t-shirt, olive green cargo shorts with side pockets, off-white low-profile sneakers, and a grey baseball cap. A thin metal bracelet is on one wrist. The background is a seamless warm beige studio backdrop. The camera is at seated eye level shooting straight on with the full body in frame. Soft even studio lighting with a gentle shadow pooling under the box. Palette of cream, olive, and warm beige. Shot with a 50mm lens. Use aspect ratio 9:16.

Black Tee and Loose Jeans Walking Through a Mall

Indoor shots with long hallways give you natural depth. The blurred crowd behind the subject makes the photo feel candid rather than staged.

Create a photo of a man walking directly toward the camera through a bright modern shopping mall, captured mid-stride with one hand relaxed at his side and the other slightly behind him. He is wearing a faded washed black crew neck t-shirt tucked loosely into light blue relaxed straight-leg jeans, white leather sneakers with three stripes, a thin silver pendant chain, and a steel wristwatch. Dark rectangular sunglasses cover his eyes and his hair is loosely wavy. The background shows a polished marble floor, glass storefronts, retail signage, and blurred shoppers walking in the distance. The camera is at chest height with a slight low tilt to elongate his frame. Bright even indoor lighting with soft reflections on the floor. Neutral palette of black, denim blue, and cream marble. Shot with a 50mm lens, shallow depth of field on the background. Use aspect ratio 4:5.

Grey Linen Shirt and Baggy Trousers on a City Street

Baggy trousers with a tucked-in silhouette up top is the current street style formula. A coffee cup in hand keeps it feeling unposed.

Create a photo of a young man walking along a city sidewalk in the evening, holding a black takeaway coffee cup in one hand while the other rests in his trouser pocket, his body mid-step and his gaze directed off to the side. He is wearing a grey linen button-down shirt with rolled sleeves and the top buttons open, baggy dark charcoal wide-leg trousers that break over his shoes, and white leather sneakers. A black leather strap watch sits on his wrist and his hair is slightly messy. The background shows a dimly lit café storefront with warm interior lights, a large black planter with green foliage, and dark stone paving, all softly blurred. The camera is at hip height shooting slightly upward to emphasize the length of the trousers. Moody low evening light with warm accents from the café windows. Desaturated grey and charcoal palette with warm highlights. Shot with a 35mm lens. Use aspect ratio 9:16.

White Tee and Dark Denim Against a Brick Wall

The simplest outfit on the list and still one of the best. A white t-shirt against red brick is a color combination that never fails.

Create a photo of a man leaning back against an old red brick wall with his head tilted slightly down, looking at his hands as he adjusts his watch strap, one foot resting flat against the brick behind him. He is wearing a plain white fitted cotton crew neck t-shirt, dark indigo raw denim jeans cuffed once at the ankle, white minimal leather sneakers, and a black rubber strap watch. His hair is short and neatly styled. The background is a weathered red brick wall with visible mortar lines and worn texture, with a strip of grey pavement at the bottom of the frame. The camera is at chest height capturing him from mid-thigh upward. Soft overcast daylight with gentle shadows and no glare. Warm red brick tones contrasted against clean white and deep indigo. Shot with a 50mm lens. Use aspect ratio 9:16.

Aspect ratio matters more than people think. Use 9:16 when you want the full outfit including shoes, and 4:5 when you want the styling details up close.

If the outfit colors come out wrong, name the exact shade instead of the general color. Slate blue, sage green, and indigo will get you much closer than blue and green will.

Try running the same prompt two or three times before changing anything. Gemini gives noticeably different results on each pass, and the second or third attempt is often the one worth keeping.
