10 ChatGPT Prompts for Beautiful Wedding Portraits
Get our stories first in Google Search
Wedding photos have a look of their own. Soft light, warm colors, a bit of wind in the veil, and two people who look like they forgot the camera was there.
ChatGPT can now produce that look surprisingly well. The images come out clean, the fabric folds look real, and the light behaves the way it does in an actual outdoor shoot.
To use these, open chatgpt.com or the ChatGPT app, start a new chat, and paste any prompt below. You can also upload a reference photo first if you want the result to match a specific face, dress, or venue.
Here are ten prompts I put together after going through a pile of real wedding galleries. Copy any one of them as it is.
Forehead to Forehead With a Pastel Bouquet
This one is the classic almost-kiss shot. Everything sits close to the lens, so the flowers and the fabric do most of the work.
Create a close-up photo of a bride and groom standing forehead to forehead in a warm afternoon garden. The bride wears a white lace gown with a fitted bodice and a fresh flower crown of small white blossoms in her long dark hair. The groom wears a charcoal grey suit with a white shirt and a peach rose boutonniere. Her hand rests on his shoulder with a slim diamond ring and a delicate gold bracelet visible. A large bouquet of peach roses, blush ranunculus and soft lavender sits in the lower corner of the frame. Shoot at eye level, tight crop, very shallow depth of field with blurred stone pillars behind them. Soft diffused daylight with a gentle glow. Romantic editorial style in warm cream, peach and dusty pink tones. Use aspect ratio 4:5.

Classic Garden Portrait in a Black Tuxedo
A straight, happy, cheek to cheek portrait. Nothing fancy, which is exactly why it works for a first-look or a save-the-date card.
Create a photo of a bride and groom standing cheek to cheek in a green garden, both smiling at the camera. The groom wears a black tuxedo with satin lapels, a crisp white pleated shirt, a black bow tie and a single white rose boutonniere. The bride wears a strapless white lace ballgown with a beaded bodice, a crystal tiara, a soft tulle veil and pearl drop earrings, her blonde hair styled in a loose updo with face-framing waves. She holds a round bouquet of blush and ivory roses with baby’s breath and green leaves at chest height. Shoot at eye level from the waist up with a 85mm lens and shallow depth of field. Bright natural daylight with soft shade. Blurred green foliage and hedges in the background. Clean, timeless wedding photography style with fresh white and green tones. Use aspect ratio 4:5.

Beige Suit Against a Greenery Wall
Modern, minimal, and very popular with couples who want a simple ceremony. The groom stands slightly behind the bride, which makes the pose feel relaxed instead of posed.
Create a photo of a bride and groom standing in front of a tall wall of climbing green vines. The bride stands in front in a fitted white satin slip dress with thin spaghetti straps and a simple hem, her brown hair pulled back into a low sleek bun with a plain veil. The groom stands close behind her with his shoulder against hers, wearing a light beige linen suit with a white shirt, a blush pink tie and a small white rose boutonniere. He rests one hand near her waist and their fingers are loosely linked at her side. She holds a small bouquet of white roses low near her hip. Shoot at eye level, three quarter body framing, natural daylight in open shade. Blurred dark wooden pergola behind them. Modern minimal wedding style in neutral cream, sand and green tones. Use aspect ratio 4:5.

Navy Suit and Lilac Blooms
Spring garden energy. The bride looks up at the groom, so the whole frame leans into that one moment between them.
Create a photo of a bride and groom walking slowly through a garden filled with blooming lilac bushes. The bride holds onto the groom’s arm with both hands and looks up at him while he tilts his head down toward her. The groom wears a slate blue suit with a white shirt, a cream silk tie, a brown leather belt and a white rose boutonniere, one hand tucked in his pocket. The bride wears an ivory crepe gown with a square neckline and long sheer sleeves, a fine gold necklace, a soft cathedral veil and a low twisted bun. She carries a loose bouquet of white garden roses with trailing ribbons. Shoot at eye level from the waist up with shallow depth of field. Warm evening light filtering through the branches. Purple lilac blossoms fill the blurred background. Romantic film photography style in ivory, dusty blue and soft purple tones. Use aspect ratio 9:16.

Low Angle Against an Open Sky
My favourite of the set. Shooting from below removes the venue completely and leaves nothing but sky, which makes the whole image feel light.
Create a photo of a bride and groom embracing in an open outdoor space, shot from a low angle so only the sky appears behind them. The bride has both arms wrapped around the groom’s neck while raising a bouquet of white peonies and hydrangeas above his head, her cathedral veil sweeping sideways in the wind. She wears a lace and tulle ballgown with a fitted beaded bodice and thin straps, her blonde hair loosely pinned back. The groom wears a sand beige suit with buttoned cuffs and a white shirt, both arms around her waist, laughing with his head tilted toward hers. Shoot from a low angle looking up, full upper body in frame. Bright natural daylight with soft white clouds and pale blue sky. Airy, joyful wedding photography style in cream, beige and sky blue tones. Use aspect ratio 4:5.

Quiet Moment in a Pine Forest
This is the calm one. Eyes closed, foreheads touching, tall trees blurred behind them.
Create a photo of a bride and groom standing forehead to forehead with their eyes closed in a sunlit pine forest. The groom wears a navy blue slim-fit suit with a white shirt and a soft grey patterned tie. The bride wears an ivory beaded gown with cap sleeves and a low open back, her blonde hair in a textured low bun with long crystal drop earrings and a pearl strand across her back. She holds a loose garden-style bouquet of blush roses, white blooms, eucalyptus and dusty miller between them. Shoot at eye level from the waist up with a 50mm lens and creamy bokeh. Soft backlight from the late afternoon sun coming through the trees. Blurred tall pines and green foliage behind them. Fine art film wedding style in sage green, blush and ivory tones. Use aspect ratio 4:5.

Golden Hour Through Flowers
Shooting through blurred flowers in the foreground is an easy way to add depth. It also makes a plain garden look like a proper venue.
Create a photo of a bride and groom standing together in a garden during golden hour, both smiling gently at the camera. The groom wears a dark navy suit with a light blue tie, a white pocket square and a white rose boutonniere, one arm around the bride’s back. The bride wears a floral appliqué tulle gown with thin straps and a beaded belt, a long soft veil, and her dark hair in a low bun with pearl earrings. She holds a tight round bouquet of white roses with bare green stems. Shoot at eye level, three quarter body framing, with out-of-focus white hydrangea blooms filling the foreground on both sides. Warm low sun coming from behind them with a soft haze. Blurred green hedges in the background. Classic luxury wedding style in warm gold, white and green tones. Use aspect ratio 4:5.

Backlit Bride Laughing in the Sun
Not every wedding portrait needs both people in it. This one is a solo bridal shot with the sun behind her.
Create a photo of a bride standing outdoors and laughing with her head turned slightly to the side, shot against the setting sun. She wears an off-shoulder white gown with a straight neckline and structured sleeves that sit on her upper arms, her long brown hair down in soft waves with a sheer veil behind her. She holds a bouquet of ivory roses, white blossoms and eucalyptus at her waist. Shoot at eye level from the waist up, slightly turned away from the lens. Strong golden backlight creating a bright halo around her hair with heavy lens flare and warm haze. Blurred trees and round bokeh circles in the background. Candid documentary wedding style in warm gold, cream and soft green tones. Use aspect ratio 9:16.

Indian Wedding in Red and Ivory
A traditional look with heavy embroidery and jewellery. Indoor light keeps the mood soft and a little moody.
Create a photo of an Indian bride and groom standing close together indoors, the bride leaning back against the groom’s chest with her head resting near his shoulder and her eyes closed. The groom wears an ivory embroidered sherwani with a deep red silk turban decorated with a pearl kalgi and strands hanging over the side. The bride wears a deep red bridal lehenga with heavy gold zari embroidery, a maang tikka with a matha patti across her forehead, large jhumka earrings, a green and gold necklace, and fresh pink roses tucked into her side-parted hair. Shoot at eye level, upper body framing, with soft warm indoor lighting from the side. Blurred ornate arched interior with carved patterns behind them. Cinematic Indian wedding photography style in deep red, gold and warm brown tones. Use aspect ratio 4:5.

Twirl in an Open Field
The movement shot. The dress does all the work here, so keep the background empty and let the fabric spread out.
Create a photo of a groom twirling his bride in a dry golden grass field. Their hands are joined and raised above her head as she turns, holding out one side of her skirt so the fabric fans wide across the frame. The bride wears a lace A-line gown with a deep V neckline, a sheer embroidered bodice and a full tulle skirt, her long blonde hair down in loose waves with a thin braided crown. The groom wears a fitted grey waistcoat over a rolled-sleeve white shirt, grey trousers and a patterned bow tie, holding a small bouquet of deep burgundy dahlias in his free hand. Shoot at eye level, full body in frame. Soft overcast daylight with muted contrast. Blurred green shrubs and open hills in the background. Rustic outdoor wedding style in golden wheat, ivory and deep red tones. Use aspect ratio 4:5.

If the results look too stiff, add a line about what the couple is doing rather than how they are standing. Something like “she is laughing at something he just said” gives ChatGPT more to work with than a pose description alone.
Uploading a reference photo also makes a big difference, especially for the dress and the venue. Try one prompt as it is first, then change the suit colour, the flowers or the time of day and run it again.
